The passing of Susan L. McDermand of Fredericton occurred at the
Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on July 24th, 2010. She was
52. Born in Fredericton NB, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and
Geraldine (Paul) Brooks. Roman Catholic by faith, Susan worked at the
St. Mary’s First Nation Band Hall. She was an avid Bingo player,
loved to knit and cook, as well as a member of St. Mary’s First
Nation Seniors Club.
Survived by daughter Suzie Gibbons; son Justin Gibbons both of Fredericton; sisters Shirley Howe (Morley), Maureen Fox (Brian); brothers Thomas (Tarzan) Brooks, Wayne Brooks (Kim), Eldon Paul, Dean Brooks (Darlene), Bradley Paul; special mention to Isaac and Haidyn; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and Stephen McDermand. Predeceased by a brother Jose Paul, and sister Pauline Paul.
Resting at 25 Brooks Court St. Mary’s First Nation where visitation will take place on Monday and Tuesday beginning at 2 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at 11:00 AM from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Monte Peters officiating. Interment to take place in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
