Cornelius C. “Neil” Harris
1932-2010
Cornelius Charley “Neil” Harris, passed away peacefully on
Feb. 12, 2010 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was 77. Born
in French Lake, NB, he was a son of the late Reginald and Annie
(Rayment) Harris.
Known for being a “Jack of all Trades”, Neil was a Stationary Engineer with DND for 34 years retiring in 1991. He Captained the Pioneer Princess for Robin Hanson.
Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Marguerite; sons Donald (Joyce) of Hartland, NB, David (Donna) of Fort McMurray, AB, Michael (Dorothy) of St. John, NB; 8 grandchildren Heather MacDonald, Ryan Harris, Sarah Harris, Melanie Wheaton, Melissa Partridge, Christopher Harris, Madelaine Kyle, and Gemma Harris; 8 great grandsons Michael, Mitchell, Logan, Liam, Garrett, Kyle, Brandon and Ethan; sisters Violet Woods, Florence Jones (Hartley); brother Reginald Harris (Stella); cousin Edward “Ted” Harris (Vonnie); numerous other, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by sisters Dorothy Wood and Winnifred Hallett.
Visitation will be held at the Morning Gate Church on Monday Feb. 15, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be at the church on Tuesday Feb. 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Patrick Halferty officiating. Interment at a later date in the Waasis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Youth Ministry at Morning Gate Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
