Maudie Fox

Martha Maud (Davidson) Fox, died peacefully at her home in Fredericton on Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010 at the age of 95. Born at the Barony, York County NB she was the youngest child of the late Samuel and Martha (Blaney) Davidson and wife of the late David Earlin Fox who passed away in 1984. Maudie spent 17 years employed with the former Creaghan’s Department Store in Fredericton. She has been a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church in Fredericton since 1939 and was a life member of the UCW at St. Paul’s.

She is survived by her seven children Wendell Fox (Vivian) of Lower Sackville, NS, Robert Fox (Sandra) of Halifax, NS, Elaine Steeves (Allen) of St. John’s, NF, Jean Shepherd (Stephen) of Cochrane, AB, Margaret Bawn (Beverley) of Miramichi, NB, Wayne Fox (Edith) of Oromocto Lake, NB and Judy Fox Roy (Kenneth) of Miramichi, NB; eleven grandchildren Kelly Major, Scott and Trevor Fox, Victoria and Meredith Steeves, Stacey Coulthard, Colleen and Megan Bawn, Brent Fox, Krista Sibley and Courtney Fox; 19 great grandchildren; as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends. Maudie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by four brothers Frederick, William, Thomas, and George Davidson and one sister Mildred Stairs.

Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Saturday Feb. 13, 2010 and Sunday Feb. 14, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Monday Feb. 15, 2010 at 2PM with Rev. Peter Short officiating. Interment will take place later in the spring at the Barony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, rememberances may be made St. Paul’s United Church, the Barony Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.
